EnAct, a platform to promote performing arts, was founded in 2019.
The organization, initially known as Udaan, was conceived to showcase Indian tradition and culture through performing arts.
It is a matter of great contentment and joy that the exuberance and enthusiasm of the Core Team translated into the submission of 6 entries to the highly acclaimed Dubai Short+Sweet (Dubai), 10-minute Drama festival, in the very first year of its existence. One of the plays ‘Online Shopping’ even made it to the semi-finals!
2020 saw the production of the highly successful Kaumudi and Ek Shaam Manto ke Naam.
By the end of the year, Udaan was renamed EnAct in line with the objective to enable with the performing arts community and audience, both in English and Hindi.
EnAct’s cultural repertoire is varied and includes, apart from plays, open mike events, play reading sessions, motivational talks, Hindi and Urdu poetry.
EnAct performs and organizes entertainment events for the general public as well as for corporates.
At EnAct, workshops in theatre craft including speech modulation are held regularly, separately for children and adults, at two levels — beginners and advanced. EnAct also trains children to take the Trinity College examinations for Drama.
We welcome local and international collaboration with writers, directors, actors, speakers, poets, graphic designers, comedians, and mentors.
EnAct is sensitive to the demands of the times. In adherence to Covid-19 protocols, when physical rehearsals and stage productions had to be suspended in 2020, members of EnAct were quick to migrate to online rehearsals and performances using social media and video communication apps like Zoom.
EnAct believes in making a difference to society, one event at a time.
